Quilt Show News for October 20, 2025

It’s Show Week!

Quilt show week is here, and it promises to be a whirlwind of fabulousness!

Take a minute to check that you are ready for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. There is a wealth of information on the Village Quilters website to facilitate your quilt show experience.

Be sure to visit the vendors.  Even if you don't make a purchase, please thank them for being part of our show. Don’t forget to shop at the Boutique and Silent Auction.

Please spend some time enjoying our Thread Talk presentations. Six of our guild members are ready to share their considerable talents with you.

Have a hanky ready for the Quilts of Valor presentations.

Recruit new members! Anyone who joins Village Quilter of Lake Bluff/Lake Forest at the show will only have to pay the half-year membership fee.  Normally this fee reduction would not be effective until November 1st, but the Board voted to allow the fee reduction to be effective at the show. (It seemed a bit churlish to ask potential new members to pay the full membership fee when the reduced half-year fee goes into effect two weeks later.)

Finally, have fun!

Last-minute Silent Auction donations

Silent Auction is incredibly excited to display the 70 quilts we have received to date. If you have one you are aiming to contribute, it will be MUCH appreciated!

Two options to get your last-minute donations:

  • Please contact Erica Jarrett or Donna Derstadt to arrange pick up.

  • Meet us at Panera in Lake Bluff on Tuesday between 7 and 8 pm (305 N. Waukegan Rd, Lake Bluff) to drop it off.

Thank you so much!

Erica Jarrett and Donna Derstadt

Dropping off and picking up your quilt

Check-in will be held from 7:45 am to 9:00 am on Thursday, October 23.

Fold your quilt so that the 4” x 6” ID card is visible, pinned to the lower left-hand corner of each quilt with two safety pins. 🧷

Check-out will be held after all the quilts have been taken down, folded, and sorted after the show closes. No quilts will be released until all of the quilts are down and the equipment is packed and ready to go. Please be patient.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with Feather Schroeder.
