Quilt Show News — Three Weeks to the Show!

General Show News

So many things happening for our great quilt show! Floor plans, quilt placement, donations to Silent Auction and Boutique, sleeves on our quilts, advertising, VOLUNTEERS and VOLUNTEERS!

You can sign up to volunteer online – very easy. We are all responsible for the success of the show. Please sign up for anything you can help with, easy jobs or more active jobs. If you have not done something before, try it, you’ll like it! Besides, it is a perfect time to get to know more friends in the Guild.

We are so excited that we have been able to bring the planning to this point in spite of the many challenges we have faced since our last show! We hope you are ALL willing and able to make sure we cross the finish line with the usual grace and amazing abilities that this guild is known for.

Get those bookmarks and hand them out to your friends and family. Most people come to the show because they have been directly invited, so start reminding everyone that the show is the first Friday and Saturday in October at the Canlan Sports Complex in Libertyville (near the intersections of Peterson Road, Routes 137 and 45).

Bookmarks will be available at the September guild meeting. If you use Facebook, please share the Facebook event for our show to your friends and family. If you use Instagram, follow @villagequilters.

Visit the Members Show page to download flyers for printing and graphics you can share online (including email).

Check In/Check Out

Your 4”x 6” ID Cards will be distributed at the September 21st guild meeting. If you are unable to attend, you may ask a friend to accept your card(s). We will mail any remaining cards. If you fail to receive your card through the mail, we will have duplicates available at the Check-In desk. See you then. Thanks!

Quilt Show Set-Up

We are at three weeks and counting until set-up day. I am still looking for two or three people willing to be team leaders for set-up. Please contact me or place a comment in the sign-up section indicating ‘Yes, I would love to be a team leader!’. I also need ladder climbers so that each team has at least two ladder climbers. Right now, I have one of 10 ladder climbers signed up. Just a simple comment like, ‘I love to climb ladders!’ and you will be all signed up. Yes, set-up is a lot of work but if we all contribute it will go smoothly. Thanks!

Silent Auction

Don't forget about the Silent Auction. We need your fantastic donations.

Boutique

Items being donated to the Boutique sale can be turned in anytime by contacting Judi Young, Laura Partridge or Barbara Peterson. Donated items can also be turned in at the September 21 in-person guild meeting.

Quilt Appraisals

If your family isn’t excited about the quilts you create, their interest might perk up once a dollar value is assigned. Please consider signing up for a quilt appraisal. The cost is $60.00 (cash or check). Contact Judy Hillebrand for a time slot on the schedule or to ask questions about the process.
