Member Info: Quilt Show Boutique

 Boutique

The Quilt Show Boutique Committee of Robyn McGarrigle, Sari Hurtig, and Rose Gray invites guild members to sell their original quilted items in the 2025 Quilt Show. There are two ways to sell your items. You can donate your items to the Boutique and/or you can sell your items as Member-Vendors.

We encourage Village Quilt Members to make items and donate them to be sold in the Quilt Show Boutique. The full amount of the sale of donated items goes to the Guild. Based on past quilt shows, donated items make up a large portion of boutique sales, and we hope many of you will enjoy making a few or more of these donated items.

Another way to sell your items at the 2025 Quilt Show is as a Member-Vendor. Member-Vendors have made the Quilt Show Boutique a great shopping experience, and it has been quite profitable for those members who have participated – 85% of each sale goes to the member, while 15% goes to the Guild. If you are interested in becoming a Member-Vendor or would like to learn more about this opportunity, please contact any of the Boutique committee members.

We have compiled a list of items that have been sold at past quilt shows. These items include table runners, table toppers, placemats, decorated kitchen towels, mug rugs, aprons, bowl cozies, ornaments, key fobs, gift tags, pin cushions, pillows, small wall hangings, bibs, baby quilts or small quilts, baskets, orphan block projects, stockings, tree skirts, zipper pouches, tote bags or anything else you would like to make. Holiday-themed items sell well. Remember to include all holidays throughout the year, in addition to fall, Christmas, and Hanukkah.

This list is not all-inclusive, and with changing trends, there may be other items to consider. If you have any suggestions for additional items to be made and sold, please let us know. The more variety, the better!

We know how busy everyone is getting ready for the Quilt Show. Once everyone’s quilts are finished and entered for the 2025 Quilt Show, we hope everyone will be able to make time to make things to donate and sell in the Boutique If you want to get together to sew your donated items, the Sunshine Stitchers have space available on the third Thursday of each month at the State Bank of the Lake in Grayslake. We can meet on May 15, June 19, July 17, August 21, and Sept 18 between 10:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. We can get together during these times to make and receive boutique items for the show. If you would like to provide any kits, patterns, items, fabric, or sewing supplies to assist with making boutique Items, those would be appreciated as well.

We can’t wait to see what you are creating to sell in the Boutique! You can turn in donated items at any time to the Boutique committee. We will be available to take donated items at upcoming monthly meetings between now and September 2025. We have Member-Vendor forms and donation forms available to help track the inventory for the Boutique. These forms will be available at the monthly meeting and can be obtained from any committee member.

Please look for updated Boutique information in the monthly Village Quilters newsletters. Thank you for volunteering your time and effort. Everything we do helps contribute to the success of our 2025 Quilt Show!

Thank you for your support.
