Quilt Show News: Quilt Show this Week!

Volunteer at the Show

Double-check your shifts & put them on your calendar.

There are a few critical areas that still need volunteers. It's easy to see this on our volunteer sign up page — simply check the box that says "hide full spots" (it's near the top).

When you come to the show, wear you name-tag!

Hanging the Show

Hanging Day is Thursday. We will officially begin at 8:30 am, but some members will be there at 7:30 am. Leave your coats and belongings in the Hospitality Room upstairs, and then come to the Equipment Depot at the south end of the show floor for your Crew assignment. (There are several light-duty and seated jobs available, so everyone can help!) Ladders, step-stools, and wagons should be brought to the Equipment Depot.

Taking Down the Show

The show will be taken down after it closes on Saturday at 5 pm. No experience necessary! Everyone will either work with a Crew or they will work in the Equipment Depot.

Crews who set up the show will run the dismantling of the quilt racks, and the rest of the guild will sort and fold drapes, pick up quilt racks (feet, uprights, conduit) from the show floor in carts, sort metal conduit and bundle it, bundle remaining feet, and sort and pack all the little equipment. Much of this work will be done on tables, so there are seated and light-duty jobs available.

If you are not able to work, please wait in the Hospitality Room. This is an issue of safety for everyone. You will not be allowed on the quilt show floor if you are not working.

No quilts will be distributed to members until the entire show is down and the truck is completely loaded. The members who will unload the truck into storage will get their quilts first. Once these quilts have been distributed and the truck is leaving, we will distribute the rest of the quilts.

Quilt Appraisals

Have you signed up for an appraisal? Remember that your quilts are “works of art” and should be appraised to insure you get the true replacement value if something should happen to them. Please call or email Judy Hillebrand for a spot on the schedule to sign up before the show. You can also sign up during the two days of the quilt show.

Service

The Quilts of Valor award ceremony will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday October 14, 2017.

A New Vendor

A new vendor approached us and will fill our empty vendor booth. So, no need to dig out your UFOs. Look for Sew Very Smooth at our show.
