Raffle Quilt

The lucky winner of Moonlit Poppies is Village Quilters guild member Cindy Heineman! Congratulation, Cindy!

We sold over 6,000 raffle tickets. The raffle quilt was displayed over 28 times at various locations. Thanks to Pam Eulberg for setting up the schedule of sales opportunities.

Vendors

The quilt show this year had 11 vendors: Sewing Concepts, Sunshine Stitches, Attic Window, Heirloom Industry, Torys Wooly Rainbows, Evilolive Quilts, Busy Bee Quilts, Sew ’n Save, Blueberry Backroads, Lucy in the Sky and Quilts of Valor.

My committee, consisting of Marti Austin, Lorraine Potts, and Carol Swartz, received many favorable comments from both vendors and members on the variety and quality of merchandise displayed.

The vendors were especially thankful for the lunch provided and the vendor sitters.

Appraisals

With everyone’s help, the Guild presented a fantastic quilt show at CLC! It was a pleasure to see all your works of art. Every visitor I talked to was blown away by the beauty and professionalism displayed.

Thirteen guild members filled the appraisal schedule with Suzanne Swenson over the two days for a total of 25 appraisals. Thank you so much to all of you for signing up. I hope you were pleased with your appraisal(s).

When the show was over, Suzanne graciously donated $5.00 from each appraisal back to the Guild for a total of $125.00.

Hospitality

It was a great show and I believe that everyone did a wonderful job! The mood in the hospitality room was overall very positive from volunteers and vendors alike. I am always amazed at how this guild pulls together to create a beautiful event. Congratulations to all of you!

Boutique

We were blown away with a total of sales for Boutique of $6,383.62. We Double checked several times!

We do have left over items which will be brought to the guild meeting for anyone who wants their things back.

Madge Pierce and Barb Jolley, Boutique Chairs

Check-In and Check-Out

Our Check-In and Check-Out Teams were beyond compare ... so skillful, tactful, cheerful and patient. We made the sometimes tedious, sometimes infuriating jobs proceed as smoothly as a serene river .. (of quilts!)

Beautiful and inspiring show! Many thanks to our leaders and everyone who brought energy and expertise to our "creation" ...

Gratefully,
Feather Schroeder, Check-In/Check-Out chair

Admissions

Over 580 people bought a wristband to attend the show. Amazing! In addition to managing wristband sales and tallying the favorite quilts votes, the Admissions table also gave out a Scavenger Hunt to the kids.

Silent Auction

Net proceeds from Silent Auction were $4,807—20% above our goal of $4,000. It takes a Village, and this Village rocks! We absolutely could not have done this without your generous donations and your help and support during the show! Many items were fought over, some were not, and some bids were downright disappointing—but all the items delighted their new owners and contributed to this great success.

For example:

  • the young boy who couldn't beleve he won the ghost quilt for only $15.

  • the bidder who won a bidding war to take home a piece made by her best friend.

  • the bidder who won a bidding war for the little Bernette and can't wait to take it to her next retreat.

  • the bidder eyeing the blue quilt who said she couldn't bid too much, but wanted it badly. and was over the moon that she got it.

  • the bidder who won the coffee quilt and was excited to to give it to her brother-in-law for Christmas.

  • the maker who was so proud and happy that a fellow member bid on the piece she made and told her how much she liked it.

It was fun to hear the comments of winning bidders. So each donation mattered. Together they generated a substantial amount of money for the guild and brightened the lives of many, many people.

Thank you to everyone who contributed, and to all who staffed the booth. You made it happen!

Erica Jarrett and Donna Derstadt

Staffing

I want to thank all the members who signed up and showed up for the quilt show. We had two members who were tending to medical problems but there were plenty of members at the show who filled in last minute.

We sold 589 tickets, Friday 302, Saturday, 287 tickets. It seemed busier on Saturday because we had many customers come back on Saturday to shop, shop, and shop!

The feedback from everyone is that our show is beautifully laid out, it was too hard to vote because of all the beautiful quilts. Everyone should pat themselves on the back, job well done. The passing of the bookmarks seem to work for advertising many people had them as a reminder for our show.

If you have a nametag or white gloves (please wash) bring them to the November meeting so I can pack away the staffing supply box.

I want to thank Carrol Stolvold who became my right-hand woman for Admissions. It never would of ran as smoothly as it did without her help. That’s the wonderful thing about the quilt show you get to meet members and forge new friendships.

Thank you one and all!

Andrea Krier

Activity Trackers
